SEASON CELEBRATION: 'WHAT'S THANKSGIVING DAY, UTSAV AND ANDREW?'."¿QUÉ ES EL DÍA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS, UTSAV Y ANDREW?"

Last Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November, our Language Assistant Utsav elaborated a PowerPoint Presentation about how Thanksgiving is celebrated in The States. He presented it to our school's students with another American Language Assistant's help, Andrew.

El pasado miércoles 23 y jueves 24 de noviembre, nuestro auxiliar lingüístico Utsav elaboró una presentación PowerPoint que explicaba cómo se celebra el día de Acción de Gracias en los Estados Unidos. Él lo presentó a los alumn@s del colegio con la ayuda de otro auxiliar americano, Andrew.

SEASON CELEBRATIONS: 'WHAT'S GUY FAWKES' DAY, 6TH GRADERS?'."¿QUÉ ES EL DÍA DE GUY FAWKES, CHIC@S DE 6º ED. PRIMARIA?"

Last Fiday, 4th November took place Guy Fawkes' celebration in 6th graders' classrooms.

El pasado 4 de noviembre los alumn@s de 6º de Ed. Primaria celebraron el día de Guy Fawkes.

Children in Britain get excited because it is Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes' Night). They lit bonfires and enjoy fireworks displays. On top of the fire there is a guy  like a scarecrow. They do these things because they remember when the King of England, James l, and the Houses of Parliament were nearly blown up with gunpowder.

Los niños en Reino Unido celebran con entusiasmo la "Noche de la Hoguera" o "La noche de Guy Fawkes" encendiendo hogueras y disfrutando de fuegos artificiales. Encima de la hoguera ponen un muñeco de tela y paja imitando a Guy. El motivo de esta celebración es para conmemorar cuando Guy Fawkes intentó volar las Casas del Parlamento en Londres con polvora.
